AIEEE 2010 Chemistry - Compounds Containing Nitrogen Question 203 English

the compounds $$'A'$$ and $$'B'$$ respectively are
nitrobenzene and fluorobenzene
phenol and benzene
benzene diazonium chloride and fluorobenzene
nitrobenzene and chlorobenzene

Giải thích

Primary aromatic amines react with nitrous acid to yield arene diazonium salts.

AIEEE 2010 Chemistry - Compounds Containing Nitrogen Question 203 English Explanation 1

The diazonium group can be replaced by fluorine by treating the diazonium salt with fluoroboric acid $$\left( {HB{F_4}} \right).$$ The precipitated diazonium fluoroborate is isolated, dried and heated untill decomposition occurs to yield the aryl fluoride. This reaction is known as Balz-Schiemann reaction.
