JAMB - Biology (2006 - No. 8)

The formation of water in the tissue respiration results from the
breakdown of water molecules
reduction of oxygen by hydrogen
reduction of carbon(IV) oxide
combination of water molecules

Пояснення

The reduction of oxygen (O₂) by hydrogen (H) is indeed responsible for the formation of water (H₂O) in tissue respiration, specifically during the final stage of cellular respiration known as oxidative phosphorylation.

You'll recall that in cellular respiration, glucose and other organic molecules are broken down to release energy in the form of ATP (adenosine triphosphate).
