Hadith 11 of an-Nawawi admonishes Muslims to
be certain in some acts of worship
avoid doubtful things
note that doubt and uncertainty are close to each other
always do things clearly

"...Leave that about which you are in doubt for that about which you are in no doubt"
Al-Hasan bin Ali who said: I committed to memory from the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu alayhi wasallam, (the following words): "Leave that about which you are in doubt for that about which you are in no doubt." [Al-Tirmidhi and al-Nasaii related it, and al-Tirmidhi said: It is a good and genuine Hadith]. Truth will lead to tranquility and falsehood will lead to doubt. We must all act and do what is permissible and proper.
