JAMB - Government (2000 - No. 34)

In the 1979 constitution, the legislative powers were divided among the federal, state and local governments. The federal government, through the parliament, could legislate on items on the exclusive legislative list, while both the federal and state governments could legislate on items under the concurrent legislative list. The residual powers resided in the hands of the local government.
