A cheque is specially crossed if
the name of the account holder is written between two parallel lines drawn across it
it could be paid over the counter
the name of the bank is written between two parallel lines drawn across it
only two parallel lines are drawn across it

In special crossing, the name of the bank is inserted between the transerve lines. This restrict payment to a specific name bank.
