One side of a rectangle is 8cm and the diagonal is 10cm. What is the area of the rectangle?
80cm2
48cm2
40cm2
36cm2
24cm2

Explanation

From the diagram above, using Pythagoras' theorem

y = \(\sqrt{10^2 - 8^2}\) = \(\sqrt{36}\) = 6 cm

Area of Rectangle = length x breath = 6 x 8 = 48 cm\(^2\)
