Despite the many challenges faced by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), it has successfully promoted regional integration and cooperation among its member countries. This has been achieved through efforts to foster economic collaboration, reduce trade barriers, promote peace and security and enhance political cooperation across the West African region.

ECOWAS aims to strengthen ties between member states, making them more resilient and better able to address collective challenges. This focus on integration and cooperation has been one of its central goals, despite the various hurdles it faces.
