What will be the time at Greenwich meridian when it is 12 noon at longitude 60\(^0\)E
4.00 a.m.
4.00 p.m
8.00 a.m.
8.00 p.m.
Explanation
The difference in longitude between the Greenwich meridian (long,0\(^0\) ) and longitude 60\(^0\)E =60\(^0\)
For a longitude difference of 15\(^0\) , there will be a time difference of 1 hr Thus, for 60\(^0\) , the time difference will be
\(\frac{1hr}{15º} \times 60º \) =4hrs
since we have traveled west of 60\(^0\)E to reach 0\(^0\) ( Greenwich meridians)
We subtract time
Thus .if it is 12 noon at long 60\(^0\)E the time at Greenwich meridian =14noon -4hrs =8.00 am
