Drug abuse refers to the misuse of substances like prescription medications, alcohol or illegal drugs. Soft drinks do not fall under any of this category. Although frequent intake of soft drinks can be harmful to one's health, it cannot be termed as drug abuse because it is not prescription, medication, alcohol or illegal drugs.
