The request "Ask what I shall give you" was made to Solomon and it happened at Gibeon. This account is found in 2 Chronicles 1:7-12 (RSV). Solomon, after offering sacrifices at the high place in Gibeon, had a dream in which God appeared to him and granted him the opportunity to request anything he desired. Solomon asked for wisdom, and God not only granted him wisdom but also wealth and honour.
