The scapula, or shoulder blade, directly joins the clavicle (collarbone) at the acromioclavicular joint and the humerus (upper arm bone) at the glenohumeral joint.

The scapula bone joins with the clavicle to form the shoulder (pectoral) girdle, which connects the humerus (upper arm bone) with the thorax.
