Mathematics for IGCSE & O level - Ratio And Proportion (Section 4 - No. 5)

A recipe uses butter, sugar and flour in the ratio 4:3:6. If 120g of butter is used, then:

90g of sugar is used.

180g of flour is used.

A total of 330g of ingredients are used.

The amount of sugar is 1.5 times the amount of butter used.

4 parts is butter, so 4 parts = 120g; each part = 30g. Sugar = 3 parts => 90g. Flour = 6 parts => 180g.
