Mathematics for IGCSE & O level - Probability (Section 8 - No. 21)
If two events, A and B, are mutually exclusive, what can we say about the probability of both happening at the same time?
P(A and B) = P(A) + P(B)
P(A and B) = 0
P(A and B) = P(A) * P(B)
P(A and B) = 1
Explanation
Mutually exclusive events cannot happen at the same time, therefore probability is zero.
