JEE MAIN - Physics (2022 - 29th June Morning Shift - No. 9)
For a series LCR circuit, I vs $$\omega$$ curve is shown :
(a) To the left of $$\omega$$r, the circuit is mainly capacitive.
(b) To the left of $$\omega$$r, the circuit is mainly inductive.
(c) At $$\omega$$r, impedance of the circuit is equal to the resistance of the circuit.
(d) At $$\omega$$r, impedance of the circuit is 0.
Choose the most appropriate answer from the options given below :
(a) and (d) only.
(b) and (d) only.
(a) and (c) only.
(b) and (c) only.
Explanation
We know that $${X_C} = {1 \over {\omega C}}$$ and $${X_L} = \omega L$$
Also, at $$\omega = {\omega _r}:{X_L} = {X_C}$$
$$\Rightarrow$$ For $$\omega < {\omega _r}$$ : capacitive
and $$\omega = {\omega _r}:z = \sqrt {{R^2} + {{({X_L} - {X_C})}^2}} = R$$
