JEE MAIN - Physics (2022 - 29th June Evening Shift - No. 11)
A vessel contains 16g of hydrogen and 128g of oxygen at standard temperature and pressure. The volume of the vessel in cm3 is :
72 $$\times$$ 105
32 $$\times$$ 105
27 $$\times$$ 104
54 $$\times$$ 104
Explanation
Total number of moles are
$$n = {n_{{H_2}}} + {n_{{O_2}}}$$
$$ = {{16} \over 2} + {{128} \over {32}}$$
= 12 moles
Using $$PV = nRT$$
$$V = {{nRT} \over P}$$
$$ = {{12 \times 8.31 \times 273.15} \over {{{10}^5}}}$$ m3
= 0.27 m3 = 27 $$\times$$ 104 cm3
