Two identical strings X and Z made of same
material have tension TX and TZ in them. If their
fundamental frequencies are 450 Hz and

For identical string $$l$$ and $$\mu $$ will be same
f $$ \propto $$ $$\sqrt T $$
$$ \therefore $$ $${{450} \over {300}} = \sqrt {{{{T_x}} \over {{T_y}}}} $$
$$ \Rightarrow $$ $${{{{T_x}} \over {{T_y}}} = {9 \over 4}}$$ = 2.25
