JEE MAIN - Chemistry (2019 - 9th April Evening Slot - No. 7)

Consider the given plot of enthalpy of the following reaction between A and B.
A+ B $$ \to $$ C + D
Identify the incorrect statement.
Formation of A and B from C has highest enthalpy of activation.
D is kinetically stable product.
C is the thermodynamically stable product
Activation enthalpy to form C is 5kJ mol–1 less than that to form D.

Explanation

$$ \therefore $$ E$$a$$ = (A + B) $$ \to $$ C = 15

E$$a$$ = (A + B) $$ \to $$ D = 10

So, Activation enthalpy to form C is 5 kJ mol-1 more than that to form D.
