Find the equation of the line through the points (-2, 1) and (-\(\frac{1}{2}\), 4)
y = 2x - 3
y = 2x + 5
y = 3x - 2
y = 2x + 1

Explanation

\(\frac{y - y_1}{x - x_1}\) = \(\frac{y_2 - y_1}{x_2 - x_1}\)

\(\frac{y - 1}{x -  -2}\) = \(\frac{4 - 1}{-\frac{1}{2} + 2}\)

= \(\frac{y - 1}{x + 2}\) = \(\frac{3}{\frac{3}{2}}\)

y = 2x + 5
