= (4)2 - 2
= 16 - 2
= 14
= (x + \(\frac{1}{x}\))2 = x2 + \(\frac{1}{x^2}\) + 2
x2 + \(\frac{1}{x^2}\) = ( x + \(\frac{1}{x^2}\))2 - 2
= (4)2 - 2
= 16 - 2
