Euphemism is a figure of speech that helps to soften the blow or impact of an otherwise deep and serious subject matter e.g "He kicked the bucket" is a euphemism for he died. When a character makes a statement in a mild way about something that is deep or has serious implication, for the event that unfolds in the play, euphemism has been used.
