This question is based on Chinua Achebe's Arrow of God
''....that no man however great was greater than his people; that no one ever won judgement against his clan.''
Achebe's conclusion was that
the individual should submit his will to thatof the clan
very few people have the ability to dictate to their clan
a man should impose his judgement on the clan if he is strong enough to do so
the clan generally ensures that the individual is reduced to weakness
