Why did the Vice Principal contact the MD after Mr Bepo’s crying incident at the assembly?
To arrange an emergency meeting.

Explanation
The VP's phone rang incessantly as she tried to console Mr Bepo. THe calls were from worried parents who had heard different rumours about the incident. Mrs Apeh, at that point, realised the best she could do was to call the MD. This can be found on page 6 of the novel.
