Bepo told students jovially that he was created to be a principal. He believed that because of his six-footer height and prominent eyeballs, no act of cheating could go uncaught. He would declare, "If you beat my height, you can't beat my eyes," whenever he was supervising an exam. This can be found on page 19 of the novel.
