When Ezekiel was called to be a "watchman" for the house of Israel (Ezekiel 3:17), God imposed several symbolic restrictions and specific instructions on him. These restrictions, such as being struck mute for a time and being bound by cords, highlighted God's unwavering resolve and persistent nature. Despite Israel's rebellion and "hard-heartedness," God remained constant in His message and His presence among the exiles.

Ezekiel’s silence and physical constraints were signs to the house of Israel. They demonstrated that even when communication seemed "restricted," God's plan was still actively unfolding.
