Ezekiel was told by God that he was to be a prophet to the rebellious Israelites, even though they may refuse to listen to him. God then told Ezekiel: "Open your mouth and eat what I am giving you" (Ez. 2:8), and a scroll was handed to him. Ezekiel ate the scroll that came from God, which tasted "sweet as honey"
