The young man of Egypt took David to the band of the Amalekites because
David was kind to him
the spirit of God was working through him
he was afraid for his life
he sought revenge against his former master
Explanation
In 1 Samuel 30:11-15 (RSV), David and his men found an Egyptian servant who had been abandoned by his Amalekite master because he fell sick. David gave him food and water to restore his strength. In gratitude, the young man agreed to lead David to the Amalekite camp. While revenge might have played a role, the key reason he helped David was David’s kindness to him when he was helpless.
