In Romans 5:20, the Apostle Paul writes:

"Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more." (Romans 5:20, ESV)

Here, Paul explains that while the law made people more aware of their sin (increasing trespass), it also led to an increase in grace. In other words, as sin became more apparent through the law, God's grace became even more abundant to cover that sin.
