Explanation

According to Luke 23:33-37 (RSV), the sequence of events is as follows:

  2. Lots casting for His dress"And they cast lots to divide his garments." (Luke 23:34)
  3. Scoffing by the rulers"And the people stood by, watching; but the rulers scoffed at him, saying, ‘He saved others; let him save himself, if he is the Christ of God, his Chosen One!’" (Luke 23:35)
  4. Mockery by the soldiers"The soldiers also mocked him, coming up and offering him vinegar, and saying, ‘If you are the King of the Jews, save yourself!’" (Luke 23:36-37)
