According to Hosea one of the punishments for the sins of Israel was that
the LORD would send famine upon the land
their women would become barren
they would eat but would not be satisfied
they would not receive divine revelation

Explanation

In Hosea 4:10 (RSV), God declares one of the punishments for Israel’s sins:

"They shall eat, but not be satisfied; they shall play the harlot, but not multiply, because they have forsaken the Lord to cherish harlotry."

This punishment signifies that despite their efforts to enjoy prosperity, they would never find true satisfaction because they had turned away from God.
