The Jewish religious leaders arrested and imprisoned the apostles the second time because
high priest and the Sadducees were jealous
they disobeyed the law

they performed miracles in the name of Jesus

In Acts 5:17-18 (RSV), it is written:
"But the high priest rose up and all who were with him, that is, the party of the Sadducees, and filled with jealousy they arrested the apostles and put them in the common prison."
