Deborah was a judge of Israel when the nation was under the oppression of Jabin, the king of Canaan. His army commander, Sisera, led a force that oppressed Israel for twenty years (Judges 4:2-3). With God's guidance, Deborah, along with Barak, led the Israelites to victory over Sisera's army.
