The suggestion made by Prophet Nathan to Bathsheb to foil Adonijah's attempt to usurp the throne of David was to
have Adonijah banished
remind David of his promise that Solomon would succeed him
have Solomon secretly anointed by Zadok
plead with Adonijah to abandon the attempt
Explanation
In 1 Kings 1:11-14 (RSV), Prophet Nathan advises Bathsheba to remind King David of his promise that Solomon would be his successor on the throne. Nathan suggests that Bathsheba go to David and, while he is still alive, remind him of his oath so that Solomon would be recognised as the rightful heir, thus preventing Adonijah from usurping the throne.
