JAMB - Chemistry (1978 - No. 26)
The nucleus of an atom contains
protons only
neurons only
protons and electrons
neutrons and electrons
protons and neutrons
Explanation
The nucleus is found at the centre of the atom of an element. Inside of the nucleus, we have two subatomic particles which are protons(positively charged) and neutron (no charge). Outside of the nucleus we have the shells with the electrons revolving round it. Therefore, the nucleus of an atom contains the protons and the neutrons in it.
