Wastage of agricultural products during the harvesting period is mainly due to inadequate storage and processing facilities. Without proper storage and processing facilities, harvested crops can easily spoil or get damaged, leading to wastage. While transport facilities, agricultural education and extension, and implementation of government policies on agriculture can also contribute to wastage, they are not the main cause.
