question tags turn a statement into a question. They are often used for checking information that we think we know is true.
Usually if the main clause is positive, the question tag is negative, and if the main clause is negative, it's positive. For example: You don't like me (positive), do you (negative)?
from the statement ''If it rains, the exhibition will be cancelled, (positive) wont it? (negative).? The speaker is certain the event would be canceled if it rains, the ''wont it?'' tag is to confirm there are all on the same page.
Question tag is used when we want to check something is true, or invite people to agree with us.
