In an organization, the communication process is made up of four key components. Encoding (sender), medium of transmission, decoding (receiver), and feedback.

It starts with the sender issuing a message which is then transmitted to the receiver who then sends feedback to the sender.

From the diagram above, the part labeled X stands for the receiver.
