WAEC - Government (2000 - No. 31)

In a federation, the exclusive legislative list contains the powers and responsibilities allocated solely to the central government. These are matters that only the federal government can legislate on, such as defence, foreign affairs and immigration.

The residual legislative list pertains to matters not explicitly covered by the federal or concurrent lists, and these are usually under the jurisdiction of the local governments. The concurrent legislative list contains areas where both the federal and state governments can legislate.
