WAEC - Chemistry (2017 - No. 22)

A 0.1\(moldm^{-3}\) solution of sodium hydroxide was diluted with distilled water to 0.001\(moldm^{-3}\). What is the dilution factor?
1000.00
100.00
10.00
0.01

Uitleg

The formula to calculate the dilution factor when using concentrations is DF = \(\frac{C_1}{C_2}\), where C\(_1\) is the initial concentration of the stock solution and C\(_2\) is the final concentration of the diluted solution.

 Dilution factor= \(\frac{0.1}{0.001}\) = 100
