Birthdays are not celebrated in Aliya's family because
it reminds them they are closer to the grave
Aliya's father dislikes parties
it is not considered a major achievement
it brings back bad memories
Penjelasan
Asides parties like weddings and other occasions of great achievements, Aliya's father doesn't consider other occasions worth celebrating, especially birthdays. Aliya's mother has a different perspective to this though but that is before she gets married to Mr Bello.
