Empirical formula x n = Molecular mass

(CH\(_3\) ) X n  =  30 ;  Given that C = 12, H = 1

 [ 12 + (1x3) ] n = 30

 15n = 30

 n = \(\frac{30}{15}\)

 n = 2.

Molecular formula = (CH\(_3\) ) X n = (CH\(_3\) ) X 2 = C\(_2\)H\(_6\)
