Yardangs are best described as
long narrow ridges of sand lying parallel to the direction of the prevailing winds
steep-side vertical bands of alternate hard and soft rocks aligned in the dircetion of the prevailing winds

tabular, horizontal strata of alternate hard and soft rocks sculptured into a ridge and furrow landscape by wind
