JAMB - Government (2014 - No. 22)

The general Strike of 1945 was caused primarily by the
persistent implementation of discriminatory laws
disparity in the criteria for employment
harshness in trade laws as it concerns the Africans
government's rejection of a demand for an increase of 50 percent in the cost of living allowances

설명

The strike began after the British colonial acting governor refused to give in by increasing 50%  wages of skilled Africans in the government railway service to meet the increased cost of living and a minimum of 60 cents daily for unskilled and temporary employed Africans in the employ of the railway
