Delegated legislation (also known as secondary or subordinate legislation) refers to laws made by an executive authority (such as a minister) under the powers granted by an Act of Parliament. This allows a minister or other authority to make specific rules, regulations or orders without needing to pass new legislation through the full parliamentary process.
