Solar energy is considered the most environmentally friendly type of energy. This is because it is a renewable source of energy that does not emit any greenhouse gases during production. Solar panels can be installed on rooftops, which does not require any additional land space. Hydroelectric energy, while also renewable, can have significant environmental impacts including habitat destruction and water quality impacts. Thermal and nuclear energy both have significant environmental impacts including greenhouse gas emissions and radioactive waste, respectively.
