In many cases of military intervention including in Nigeria, the military justifies its actions by claiming that the civilian government is unable to effectively govern or maintain order. This perception of civilian incapacity to govern often serves as a rationale for military intervention, as the military may see itself as a more capable or necessary force to address perceived problems or crises in the country.
