In a cabinet system of government, executive power is vested in the council of ministers (also known as the cabinet). The cabinet, led by the Prime Minister or Head of Government, is responsible for the executive functions of the government, including implementing laws and running government departments. The legislature, on the other hand, is responsible for making laws.
