JAMB - Chemistry (2005 - No. 8)

When sulphur (IV) oxide is passed into a solution of sodium hydroxide for a long time, it eventually produces a solution of
NaHSO4
Na2SO3
NaHSO3
Na2SO4

توضیح

When sulphur dioxide (SO₂) reacts with a solution of sodium hydroxide (NaOH), it forms sodium sulphite (Na₂SO₃) and water (H₂O). The balanced chemical equation for this reaction is: SO₂(g) + 2NaOH(aq) → Na₂SO₃(aq) + H₂O(l).
