Leguminous cover crops do not

bind the soil particles together through their roots

increase the nitrogen content of soils

aid in improving the soil organic matter content

reduce the soil microbial population

Leguminous cover cropping helps to prevent erosion , supply nitrogen etc but does not have a negative effect on soil microbial population.
