The assimilation policy was a policy of absorbing Aboriginal people into white society through the process of removing children from their families. The cultural believes and way of life of the French colonial masters was forced upon their subjects. The ultimate intent of this policy was the destruction of Aboriginal society and the abolition of any form of Africanism in their colonies.
