WAEC - Biology (2017 - No. 5)

An example of osmosis in plants is the
movement of water through the xylem
loss of water vapour from the stomata
translocation of food through the phloem
absorption of water from the soil by the root

Erläuterung

Osmosis is responsible for the ability of plant roots to draw water from the soil. Plants concentrate solutes in their root cells by active transport, and water enters the roots by osmosis.
